The 2024 DHS Commencement is scheduled for tonight at
8 PM at Leopard Stadium. Gates will open at 6 PM.
Balloons will not be allowed to enter the stadium until after the ceremony. This is so that all spectators have a clear line of sight to the graduates and to avoid any safety hazards. Family members are welcome to bring in balloons once the ceremony has concluded.
Please stay off the field turf during the ceremony. Lawn Chairs will be allowed on the track but must be kept away from the turf so the graduates have enough room to walk by.
Ceremony Conclusion: Please remain off the field until the graduates have finished walking to the south end of the field in front of the video board. This is for the safety of all graduates and their families.
Once the graduates have finished their walk, the field will be open for families to find their graduates, celebrate, and take family photos. This procedure will prevent a bottleneck of graduates and spectators in the stadium's north end and allow everyone enough space to move freely.
Regarding Stole/Cords: Graduates can only wear stoles and cords issued by DHS, UAC, or the military. We encourage parents and family to keep all other stoles in their possession until after the ceremony.
Please use a poncho if needed. No umbrellas please.
Graduates can pick up their official diplomas at the DHS office on Tuesday, May 14th.

The 2024 DHS Commencement is scheduled for tonight at
8 PM at Leopard Stadium. We are monitoring the weather closely. The ceremony will be relocated to the DHS Coliseum if rain is expected.
We will make a final announcement today at 4 PM.

With heavy hearts, our Leopard Family is saying goodbye to another beloved family member this week. Ruby Lee Vallee graduated from De Queen High School in 1964 and went on to work in many capacities, but her favorite was ISS Paraprofessional for De Queen Elementary School for the last eight years. The Vallee Family has been a driving force behind our Leopard Family for many years. We ask you to join us in sending thoughts and prayers to Joe, Lori, Cooper, and the entire Vallee family.
