READING...There are many benefits for becoming a good reader and the students at DES have been working hard on making points to join the "AR Points Club". For those who achieved 100 points or more by a deadline, were rewarded with a trip to Simple Simon's Pizza. They had a good time and tasty pizza. We are proud of all our students' hard work and continue to encourage them to read, read, read!!! #LeopardPride

The DES Fourth grade classes have been using their math skills in art the past couple of weeks. They created symmetrical geometric snowflakes using printmaking. Printmaking is the transferring of a design to another surface using tools such as brayers, ink, paint, etc. There are many types of printmaking techniques , such as, woodcut, etching, and engraving. The fourth grade students made monotype (one) print using a gelli plate. Pictured below are a few of the beautiful snowflake prints created.
