Stacy Vance Named 2024 De Queen Primary Teacher of the Year
Stacy Vance was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 22, 1973. Throughout her childhood and adolescence, life took her on many adventures and in many different directions, with the family often only living an average of two years in each place. This built resilience and adaptability in her life!
Stacy married Steve Vance on October 7, 1995, and was a stay-at-home mom for several years, raising her babies and focusing on family before returning to College to finish her Bachelor’s Degree. She began her teaching career in August of 2006 at De Queen Primary School as a Kindergarten teacher and is still teaching Kindergarten 18 years later. Mrs. Vance enjoys her job and being with her students; they bring so much joy and laughter to her life! She lives a simple life full of love and family and would not have it any other way!
Stacy has raised three children; Taylor, the oldest, works in Special Orders for a local building supply company. Her middle child, Steve, works as a Chemical Engineer for a company in Camden, AR., and the youngest, Ryan, is currently a Senior at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, majoring in Agriculture Soil Science and Forestry. Stacy looks forward to traveling with her husband after retirement, visiting her children, and watching her grandbabies grow!
Stacy’s hobbies include reading and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite quote is by the author Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
