Tiffany Williamson Named 2024 DHS Teacher of the Year
Tiffany Williamson currently serves as the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year at De Queen High School, where she teaches the Digital Marketing Pathway and Computer Science-Programming Pathway. With an 18-year tenure exclusively with De Queen Public Schools, Mrs. Williamson's commitment to education is evident. A proud alumna of DeQueen High School, she graduated in 2002 and pursued her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education at Henderson State University. Mrs. Williamson initially taught third grade at De Queen Elementary for 15 years before transitioning to DHS. In 2009, she earned her Master of Science in Theory & Practice from Arkansas State University, complemented by her National Board Teaching License in Literacy.
Mrs. Williamson's enthusiasm for technology, a focal point in her teaching approach, stems from its ever-evolving nature. She firmly believes that continuous learning is synonymous with a vibrant life, a principle that has guided her throughout her career. She extends her passion for technology by volunteering as a sponsor of the Technology Student Association and coaching the DHS Robotics team. She also serves on the Leadership Team at the high school.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Williamson is happily married to Ronnie, her high school sweetheart, who manages his own automotive mechanic business and family poultry farm. The couple is blessed with two children, Kyle, a De Queen High School sophomore, and Katie, a De Queen Junior High freshman. Mrs. Williamson’s community involvement extends to church activities, where she leads the Vacation Bible School program and Wednesday night youth initiatives. Additionally, she serves as a 4-H leader and holds a position on the 4-H Foundation Board, showcasing her dedication to education and community service. She is also a proud supporter of our Leopard and Lady Leopard student-athletes and serves as a De Queen Athletic Booster Club board member.
